2021OC Gastro 2021
OC Gastro brings together chefs from both sides of the Pyrenees — from the Alt Urgell to Northern Catalonia and the Languedoc — in a day of cross-border cooking rooted in the Occitan tradition.
Perpignan, at the heart of Northern Catalonia, hosts the first edition of OC Gastro in November 2021. Two days, two slopes of the Pyrenees and an unprecedented project: Occitan and Catalan gastronomy sharing a stage, ingredients and conversation at the Palais des Congrès. Laurent and Jacques Pourcel, from the Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, open with the weight of their two Michelin stars behind them. Julien Blaya, from La Senyera in Villefranche-de-Conflent, brings the cooking of the valley with a local accent. Pere Arpa, from Mas Lazuli in Pau, bridges the gap from inland Girona. Francesc Rovira, from Fonda Xesc in Gombrèn, reminds us that the Catalan and Roussillon mountains speak the same language at the table. Produce, craft and a Pyrenees that, seen from Perpignan, has no border. OC Gastro was born because the cooking from up here is one and the same.
